Home : Projects : OpenOEE

OpenOEE will be a completely Open Source system (licensed under the GNU GPL) for OEE. It provides elements which handle:

The OEE figure for a particular manufacturing asset provides an excellent measure of its effectiveness. OpenOEE will provide the OEE score and its components (Availability, Performance and Quality) for assets and asset groups (which can range from individual machines performing only part of the manufacturing process for each unit to entire companies or groups of companies), and will also collect and report on useful extra information through the production metadata and reason data capture elements to aid in-depth analysis of these scores.

For a motivated management team and workforce, a good OEE reporting system can provide the visibility required to find the opportunities within your organisation to improve production effectiveness by reducing unplanned downtime, rejects and speed loss by finding and eliminating any underlying deficiencies in your equipment and processes.

OpenOEE aims to be the most powerful, scalable, stable, flexible OEE capture, analysis and reporting system available. It will be, in its entirety, Free Software.

Current Status

I'm currently about 40% of the way through the high level design of the system and have started development work on the core server, ooeed, which handles ingress and initial analysis and the generation of raw reports and notifications. There's nothing releaseworthy yet, but if you're interested in joining the project, check back soon; when I get the RADO contact system working I'll be happy to hear from anyone with an interest in:

At the moment, it's useful for this to be just my baby - I want to get something fairly complete and coherent together before throwing it open to contributions.
