The red arrow is pointing to the speaker connector, which must be disconnected to lift the motherboard. The small CMOS battery is attached to the underside of the motherboard, so you don't need to disconnect this (having said that, if you ever need to forcibly clear the CMOS settings on an EEE PC, disconnecting this for a few seconds then reconnecting it will do the job).
